About
The goal of this endeavor is to run a seminar on the platform Zoom on a weekly basis, perhaps with alternating time slots each of which covers at least three out of four of Europe, North America, Asia, and New Zealand/Australia.
This initiative is born out of the wish to organize something positive in the current situation where normal seminars, conferences and meeting activities are put on hold. If everything runs well, we might even like to continue this seminar series in the future.

Technical information
All seminars take place on the online conference platform Zoom. Seminar participants need to consider the following instructions:
-
Seminar participants need to register once for the entire seminar series on Zoom with their name, email address and institution at this link. This registration is just for the seminar series and does not require a Zoom account.
-
In the process of registration participants receive a link that is needed for the actual participation. The participation requires no pre-installed software other than a recent web browser, an internet connection, a microphone if questions are to be asked and a camera if possible. Participation via mobile devices requires a Zoom app being installed on the device.
-
Participants are asked to keep their microphone on mute during seminar sessions, unless they want to speak publicly in the seminar. Hand signs can be activated via the Zoom application. Participants should note that all seminar meetings are recorded unless the speaker objects!

The Zoom conference setting can be tested here.
